I live on the same street as Christian and Missionary Alliance Elim Church. When I had a stroke for the first time in 2018, I was not able to climb upstairs at the very beginning of my recovery. So I cried with my mother. Surprisingly my mother was acquainted with Pastor Lau from Elim Church. Then I had lunch in Elim Church. I could feel everyone’s caring and love, so I attended Sunday worship frequently. In early September 2019, I decided to believe in Jesus as my savior. At that time, my mother worshipped Goddess Kwun Yam. She was worried about me attending church. Later on, she also felt the love and sincerity of the brothers and sisters in the church, so she did not object to my attending worship and group activities on every Sunday. I was then nurtured by minister Ms. Chan who taught me the Bible.
When I had a stroke for the second time in October 2019, I recovered in Tung Wah Hospital. At that time, I always prayed the Lord’s Prayer. Thank God that I was discharged from the hospital and I could move by myself. Praise the Lord. God sent a pastor to visit my mother who was just discharged from the hospital on a Sunday night in early August 2020 during the pandemic. He invited my mother to believe in Jesus. Thank God that my mother decided to believe in Jesus. She went peacefully to heaven on 9 September 2020.
In 2020, a friend of mine, Tou Jie introduced Saint Barnabas’ Society and Home to me. I joined the Saturday worship and fellowship, as well as the Tuesday Bible group, studying the Bible and knowing the Lord.
Thanks to the Lord. I was baptized on 1 November 2020. I rejoiced to be God’s child. Thanks Ms. Tse and the friends from Saint Barnabas’ Society and Home for coming to my baptism ceremony, witnessing to the grace of God, and rejoicing together.
For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
